Speaking of BUSLIB, this nugget of info that was shared on the list this past week is worth passing along. It was posted by Gary Klein of the library at Wilamette University in Salem:

BUSLIB-L readers who work with USA publicly traded company
information might want to take note of these improvements.

While using the U.S. Securities & Exchange Commission’s EDGAR search
engine this morning, I noticed a little yellow “new” flag indicating that
the SEC has added 2 new services to its EDGAR database.

BETA FULL TEXT SEARCH is listed under the category of General Purpose
Search tools with either a Basic search form, or Advanced search form:

> allows you to search the full text of EDGAR filings from the last two
> years. The full text of a filing includes all data in the filing as well
> as all attachments to the filing. We are still developing this feature,
> and we plan to enhance it based on user feedback. Please email your
> comments and suggestions for improvement to textsearch@sec.gov.

SEC’s EDGAR now also offers EFFECTIVENESS NOTICES under the categroy
of Special Purpose Searches:

> The following Securities Act registration statements and post-effective
> amendments were declared effective on the most recently completed
> business day. You may also view notices from this and previous days…
This listing contains the most recent filings for the current official
> filing date (including filings made after the 5:30 pm deadline on the
> previous filing day). Filings may be made Monday through Friday (except
> for U.S. Federal Holidays).
